Representation agreement
If a State does not have its proper visa section in a country or region, the delivery of a Schengen visa can be delegated to another Schengen State member with an agreement between both countries concerned.
The agreement allows the appointed representation to represent and handle Schengen visa applications within its own competence without consulting the other represented State.
Notes
Please note that the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bamako (Mali) and the Embassy of France in Nouakchott (Mauritania) are not authorized to process the following types of C visas (short-stay):
- Visa applications for short stays related to gainful employment (including drivers and journalists)
- visa applications for short stays related to studies
- visa applications for short stays related to medical reasons
- visa applications for short stays submitted by nationals of the following countries: Eritrea, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Somalia
- the issuance of visas with Limited Territorial Validity (VTL) — unless related to Art. 25(3) of the Visa Code
- visa applications from holders of diplomatic, service, or special passports who are not nationals of the country in which France maintains a diplomatic mission
- visa applications from holders of ordinary passports who intend to travel to Switzerland for official reasons, including participation in international conferences, and who are not citizens of Mali
Visa applicants must appear in person at the Swiss Embassy in Dakar by appointment with their complete visa application. No incomplete applications will be accepted.
